The Dance of Yoga, The Dance of Life, A 5 day Śivaratri Sādhanā

The Dance of Yoga, The Dance of Life

A 5 day Śivaratri Sādhanā with Mischa

07.15 - 8 AM GMT / 12.45 - 1.30 PM IST

8-12 March, 2021

embodied prayer | meditation | pranayama | mantra

Join me for 5 days of Śiva Sādhanā, diving into the practices of yoga at this potent time of Śivaratri, celebrating the Maha Yogi, Lord Śiva, the auspicious One and the highest inner truth residing within each of us.

These are unprecedented times, where the world is dissolving as we know it and revealing itself in infinite new ways, both terrifying and beautiful. Life is the perfect storm, the cosmic dance of creation and destruction and we are the dancers. Śiva is the master of this dance, the destroyer of ignorance, bringing strength and courage to meet endings with grace and new beginnings with hope and possibility.

We will meet each morning for 5 days for a 45 minute sādhanā, weaving sacred intention, embodied prayer, stillness, breath and mantra to invoke and call awake the omnipresent withstanding strength and light of Śiva within us to amplify our capacity to show up dancing in this perfect storm.

Please note that the ‘zoom room’ will be open from 7 AM each day for us to sit silently together for 15 minutes before we open practice at quarter past 7 (GMT). You will receive further instructions and information on the flow of our week and what to bring once you have signed up.

The ancient myths and voices whisper that our prayers and practices are amplified ten thousand fold at this time…

I will be guiding our journey live from the ancient home of Lord Śiva, Kashi or Varanasi, in Uttar Pradesh, India. Thousands of years old, rising from the banks of the river Ganga Ma, Kashi, The City of Light, was birthed through tapasya, the intense meditation, of Śiva. It holds lifetimes of prayer and daily enactments of ritual of death and liberation carried out on the ghats of the city. Śiva himself embodies the cycle of life and death, he bangs his damaru drum and dances his wild dance of creation and dissolution, he is the Maha Tattva, the total of all material energy, and the entire ground of consciousness, the space holder for the dance of Śakti, the divine feminine energy through which all of life manifests and moves.
